Founder & CEO
Cyril Frémont is the founder and CEO of internet.Best. He leads the company's thesis that the naming layer of the internet is being rewritten in 2026 for an AI-mediated world and the creator economy, and that infrastructure carrying meaning — a superlative registry, a video-first builder, and a multi-model AI platform — is immunity against commoditization.
He authored the company's vision paper, The Naming Revolution, and led its application in the ICANN 2026 round for new top-level domains spanning two clusters: AI and creators.
That thesis rests on assets he acquired and built. In 2018 he acquired .Best, operated by BestTLD Pty Ltd, an ICANN-accredited registry operator. He founded web.Best, a cinematic video-first website builder, and ai.Best, which consolidates every leading AI model into a single subscription. He also runs a large entrepreneurs community covering AI, technology, and business strategy with more than 30,000 entrepreneurs.
A serial entrepreneur based in Paris, Cyril was named among the 100 French entrepreneurs of the web and among the 20 best CEOs of the year in 2022. He has taken part in three IPOs: Intershop (Neuer Markt / NASDAQ), Ariba (NASDAQ), and Sidetrade (Euronext Paris).
The investors
internet.Best is built by entrepreneurs and backed by Bpifrance, the French sovereign wealth fund with over €36B under management. Bpifrance's goal is to favour the growth of the French economy by helping entrepreneurs thrive. Its investor group brings together entrepreneurs who have founded, scaled, and exited companies across different industries; founders who have lived through the same problems the group is solving: acquiring users at defensible cost, building recurring revenue on infrastructure others depend on, and turning a technical asset into a durable commercial franchise.
That diversity is deliberate. A registry business sits at the intersection of infrastructure, brand, and distribution, and the group's investors have each solved one of those problems at scale in a different market.
Alongside this private backing, the group has been supported since 2018 — the year it acquired the .Best TLD — by Bpifrance, France's public investment bank.
That combination of entrepreneurial capital and institutional French backing gives internet.Best both the operating judgment and the balance-sheet stability to compete for a portfolio of strategic top-level domains in the 2026 ICANN round.
Bpifrance's own commitment to the sector has since scaled sharply. In March 2025 it announced it would deploy €10 billion by 2029 to develop the AI ecosystem and facilitate the adoption of artificial intelligence by French companies — backing startups, infrastructure and compute, taking growth-stage stakes, investing through funds of funds, and running adoption programmes for smaller firms.
